The Boardroom - our May 2022 Bold Style
Over two years ago we saw a mass exodus from office work due to the spread of Covid-19. This Spring many of you (happily or begrudgingly) are headed back to the workspaces of yesteryear. Along with this shift we must ask ourselves, “Which aspects of our previous workflow do we wish to revive, and which are better left in the dust?”
This month’s bold design, The Boardroom is inspired by that very question. When I look back on “bring your son/daughter to work” day as a young girl two things are ingrained in my senses: the smell of freshly starched dress shirts and the geometric, interweaving design of the office carpet. Finely pressed work attire has faded into obscurity for most and along with it employees are asking the big questions: Is in-office work really the best option? Are there better ways to communicate with our peers? How can we achieve the work/life balance we all hope for and deserve?
The Boardroom enlivens a nostalgic past by pairing traditional carpet graphics with a bright, inspirational color palette. As you step into this new phase of redefining work (wearing your cool new socks), I encourage you to challenge conventions! Now more than ever before, we hold the power to make real change – through technology, through empathy, through good old fashioned trial and error. So let’s do it, friends! Let’s challenge ourselves to look past the world as it has been and put our brilliant minds to work building the world as it can be!

The Story About Our May 2022 Socks:
Let’s all take a collective deep breath. Do you feel just a little bit calmer? It’s safe to say that life has felt busy lately…like, really busy. Between the spring cleaning, soaking up the sun and getting back into the swing of things post-pandemic, it seems as if our to-do list is growing longer each day.
As we were discussing what our inspiration was for our May socks, we were inspired by well…ourselves. Instead of searching for the latest and greatest trend, we thought, “let’s do what we do best”. This month's socks are a classic take on our most favorite geometric and stripe patterns with bright pops of color.
We hope that you gain inspiration from our “let’s do what we do best” sentiment. When our schedule is packed, it’s important to remember that going back to the basics is okay and encouraged. Make that to-do list, pack your Google calendar with color-coded time slots, maybe even take a day off to reset! Listen to what you need in this busy time and be kind to yourself.
Time-blocking exercise: Block out specific times in your day to get related tasks done. Have a bunch of emails? Block out time from 10AM-12PM to answer them. Need to do laundry? Time yourself and do 30 minutes of laundry in the evening. It can work wonders!
