The Raven - Our October 2022 Classic Style

Cold feet, nevermore! Edgar Allan Poe’s classic poem, The Raven, serves as the perfect inspiration for this month’s classic design. Best worn on cold, moody nights as you chase away pesky ravens, of course. I felt that an elegant motif and muted color palette fit the narrative quite well and also blend perfectly into a proper, astute wardrobe.

The Story About Our October 2022 Socks:

“Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night." - Edgar Allen Poe

As days grow shorter and shadows grow longer, we at Sock Club officially recognize the start of Spooky Season. Many celebrate Spooky Season by watching their favorite scary movies, decorating for Halloween, and heading to the pumpkin patch.

We like to take it a step further at Sock Club by doing what, in a horror movie, would be considered the unthinkable: seeing what’s behind the creaky old door.

The creaky old door to us our currently held beliefs or practices that might need to be changed. Can we get to where we want to go by not confronting our fears? What happens when we dare to ask what would be possible if we risked seeing something that we don’t like?

Edgar Allen Poe’s work was largely about illuminating the darkness and exploring spooky things to see the truth behind them. This Spooky Season, we hope that your October socks remind you that even if opening the door to your dreams and fears is scary, what lies beyond it might just be the thing you have been looking for, instead of the thing you’ve been running away from.
